Hospitant fra St. Petersburg i Tromsø

Olga Volkova, Russland, får en grundig innføring i kommunens nettside av webkoordinator Mark Ledingham, USA

Olga Volkova fra St. Petersburg hospiterer i Tromsø kommune i to uker. Hun har base på Servicetorget. Til vanlig jobber Olga i informasjons- og forskningsavdelingen i fylkesadministrasjonen i St. Petersburg.Det er KS, NHO og UD som samarbeider om et utvekslingsprogram som skal knytte nye kontakter mellom norske og russiske bedrifter og kommunale og fylkeskommunale myndigheter.

Olga har et allsidig program i Tromsø med besøk på Tvibit, Destinasjon Tromsø, OL-komiteen, TFDS, Norsk Polarsinstitutt, Eksportutvalget for fisk, Troms fylkeskommune (Barentssamarbeidet) m.m. Hun skal også ha et møte med ordføreren.

- Jeg føler meg veldig godt mottatt i Tromsø og har fått mange nye kontakter og ideer som jeg kan ta med hjem. I løpet av 2004 hospiterer ca 30 russiske bedriftsledere og offentlige ansatte i flere kommuner rundt om i landet og får opplæring i markedsøkonomi, bedriftsledelse og kommunal forvaltning, forteller Olga Volkova.

- I am in Tromsø with a training-program "Norwegian Presidential Initiative 2004". Yours earth, mountains are so beautiful. And I think this is the main reason of kindness of heart of persons which I have met there. I wish habitants of Tromsø to win with invitation of Olimpic Games 2014.

- I work in Committee for External Relations and Tourism of Saint Petersburg. That's why I am interested in gaining knowledge about the system and experiences of the state service organizations in Norway in order to be able to organize joint projects; to exchange knowledge about increasing the effectiveness of the state service organizations' performance in organizing international events and PR campaigns; to learn the expenditure for branding and advertising of the City like a centre of tourism and trade.

- Petersburg prizes its ties with its international partner cities, which date as far back as 1953, when the earliest such partnership was cemented with Turku, Finland. Today, St. Petersburg is partners with 71 cities worldwide.
